New Beginnings Assembly of God

Is Having God's Presence Important?

2 Chronicles 7:1-3 "Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.  And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD’S house.  And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever." (KJV)

Question: When it comes to everyday living how many of us give it a second thought about our need for God's presence?

Answer: only those who want to have a relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, His Son.

Question: What actions must we do on our part, to have God's presence?

Answer:                                Repent of Your Sin

Acts 3:19 "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord."  (KJV)

The first action on our part is that we need to repent of our sin and ask the Lord for forgiveness and to cleanse us from our sin with the blood of Jesus.

Be reconciled unto God through Jesus Christ by accepting Jesus as your Savior

Romans 5:10 "For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life." (KJV)

The second action is what God does for us after we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior. You see, we were at one time enemies of God and could not be in the presence, but now by the death of His son Jesus Christ we have been reconciled to God.  Not only do we enjoy the assurance of eternal life, but also the benefit of His Divine Presence.

Draw nigh to God

James 4:8-10 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

The third action is the steps after Salvation.  We need to begin building a relationship with Him.  This is done by reading your bible, praying and attending a church so that you can worship Him and hear the preaching of His word.

Question: Can just any person in the whole world have the presence of God dwelling with them everyday?

Answer: Yes, if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.

Question: Is having God's Presence important?

Answer: Yes, having His presence makes all the difference in your world in your life and your church.
